It was announced that the live action adaptation of “Detective Conan” will come back after 7 months as a special drama titled, “Kudo Shinichi Kyoto Shinsengumi Satsujin Jiken“, starring Mizobata Junpei.
“Detective Conan (Meitantei Conan)” is Aoyama Gosho’s popular manga that is being serialized on Weekly Shonen Sunday, and its TV anime series had started airing in 1996, and since in 1997, the anime film version was released every year. It also received a live-action drama adaptation, and previously, Mizobata starred in the drama series (broadcasted in July ~ September 2011) as Kudo Shinichi along with Kutsuna Shiori as the heroine, Mouri Ran.
The special drama will feature two murder cases which happen behind closed doors. One of the cases takes place on the air plane, and the other takes place at the set of a movie. Same as the drama series, Matsuzaka Tori (as Hattori Heiji), and Okamoto Rei (as Toyama Kazuha) will appear in the special drama as well, and Usuda Asami, Sato Aiko, Nakamura Shunsuke, Kojima Kazuya (of comedian duo Anjash), Itoda Jun (of comedian duo Speed Wagon), and Dante Carver will also make appearances.
Mizobata commented, “There will be 12 suspected people in the special drama, and somehow all of them seem suspicious, so I would say one of the highlights is the confrontation between Kudo Shinichi and those 12 people.”
“Kudo Shinichi Kyoto Shinsengumi Satsujin Jiken” will air on April 12th at 9:00 pm.
